Approach
The 5 steps to success in sustainability
Our approach is built on five pillars: design, raw materials, production, transport and reuse. Each step is supported by certifications and partnerships that make our choices transparent and verifiable.
We are a member of Amfori/BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative), an international programme focused on improving working conditions throughout the supply chain.
Our production partners comply with the BSCI Code of Conduct and are continuously monitored through both independent audits and our own internal audits.
In addition, we safeguard quality and environmental standards through ISO 9001, ISO 14001, our EcoVadis Silver certification, and a transparent ESG report.

The process
Design
A strong design takes into account wearing comfort, usability and the lifecycle that follows. We develop only what is needed, using fixed patterns that can be reproduced consistently. Each garment is industrially washable, modular in construction and durable in both materials and appearance, defined and documented down to the smallest detail.
Raw materials
We select fabrics and materials from European suppliers that meet strict environmental standards. Each fabric is tested for durability, safety and environmental impact. Our standards include OEKO-TEX®, OEKO-TEX® STeP and REACH compliance, and our main suppliers already comply with OEKO-TEX® STeP. Our suppliers also sign our strict Van Moer Code of Conduct.

Production
Van Moer has over 100 years of garment manufacturing experience. For many years, we have worked with trusted partners in Eastern Europe and North Africa — ateliers that are BSCI-audited and comply with the highest standards for working conditions, quality and transparency.
We produce on a made-to-order basis: only what is needed, in the right quantities and with minimal waste streams. In this way, we combine efficiency, quality and respect for people and the environment.

Transport
Because efficient transport is also sustainable transport, we limit unnecessary movements. 95% of our production volumes are manufactured close to home. Through combined outbound and return transport, smart groupage and minimal packaging, we make optimal use of every loading space. In this way, we minimise empty kilometres and reduce our CO₂ emissions.
Circular clothing
We are proud of our circular fabric, which we developed together with Utexbel.
When garments reach the end of their first life cycle, we aim for the most valuable second destination: through reuse, fibre recycling or applications in furniture and new textile products.
In collaboration with partners such as Frankenhuis, I-Did, Planq and Utexbel, we are developing circular solutions.
